I had an interesting idea two nights ago while trying to sleep. It's something halfway between tires and tank treads.
If you have ever stored a basketball without air, you've seen that a sphere can fold one hemisphere into the other hemisphere. My idea is essentially to fill that with a thin layer of a liquid that can take a lot of pressure use that for tires.
