Simplicity is Power

It's dark and I'm hungry for warmth, light, and excitement. Lots more unicycling, it's the only way to keep from hibernating. I can barely wait for the solstice! I've nearly figured out backwards riding and idling.
Interesting set of emails on The Pragmatic Programmer mailing list. More people interested in simplicity and elegance. Worse is Better gets mentioned again.
I've discovered two kinds of open source library code, code I would have written myself, and code I don't understand. (And rarely, code that needs fixing.) I think there's something to this thought, but I can't tell what.
I love reading Richard P. Gabriel's writings. Check it out! Worse Is Better and so much more!
Derek Elkins was kind enough to play idea tennis with me about the crazy empty basketball idea, together we came up with something really nifty. I have a friend who's getting a degree in Industrial Design, she may be interested in the Slidealong.
